Hi,, I'm using the default domain gpo, and I have enabled auditing for account logon success and failures. Nothing is showing up in the security event viewer. This same gpo does handle password settings and account lockout parameters without problems. I actually turned on security auditing for everything possible to see what would happen, and still nothing shows up in the security event log. any thoughts? thanks

bizarre. I just enabled Account Logon for our server, and it too did not log anything. I then enabled all of the audit events, and still no joy.
However, then I changed in the GPO:
Comp. Cinfig\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\User Rights Assignments\Generate Security Audits
I set this to include Domain Users, Domain Admins.
Now I am getting Account Lockout events, and Account management events (Success). But still no logon events.
Anyone else have any ideas?

There is nothing like a good ol' fashioned reboot I guess. As a last resort, I took the server down at 5:00 am (before anyone could complain) and sure enough the old gal is now logging security audits after coming back online. I have no explanation... but, Thanks for the replies!
