I have an access 97 database that I am attempting to convert to AccessXP. The 97 database has its own MDW file that I thought I had full admin privileges to. If you look at the objects within the database I appear to be the owner of all of them and have the necessary rights to:

Open/Run
Read/Design
Modify Design
Administer

However when I open the database throught the MDW file I get the annoying message.

"The current user account does not have permission to convert or enable this database."

Am I missing something obvious ?

Many Thanks

Paul

Sorry I didn't make myself more clear it is the access 97 database I am trying to convert and which gives me the message after the login prompt.

Hi

Sorry I was confused too, I was confusing my mde, mdb, anf mdw !

you need a login id with sufficient permissions, ie admin rights I would guess

Website needs upgrading, but for now - UK

Sorted I have just noticed that I am the owner of every object in the database but am not down as the owner of the database itself.
