Hi All,

1. I have a problem when I try to access hotmail.com. The system always prompts me to "Do you want to proceed" asking for confirmation on the certificates issue.

2. When I try to access a webpage with I'm getting an error message

"The page must be viewed with a high-security Web browser
The page you are trying to view requires the use of a Web browser configured for 128-bit encryption. "

I'm using Internet Explorer 6.0 on Windows 2000.

Can some one help me and I would appreciate ofr your help.

Thanks in advance.

Kumar

In your browser, click Help -> About and see what "cipher" strength you are using. Chances are it is not 128-bit which some secure sites require. If you need to upgrade to 128-bit, it is easy and painless. Just follow the link on the Help->About screen for Update Information.

Hi WW,

Thank you for the information. I found that "cipher: strength is only 56-bit.

I could not upgrade to 128-bit as i'm not able to follow the link. Can you please help me on this breifly.

Thanks
Kumar

you should install Service Pack 2 or 3 on your Windows 2000 system as well. Sounds like you're still at plain 'ole Windows. A LOT has been fixed in the service packs, and this is one thing that is included. pbxman

Still when I log on to hotmail.com, still the security dialog box appears and is aksing for my conformation to proceed. Can you please me on this....Thanks

Regards,
Kumar

you may need to reset your browser's security settings. go to tools/internet options/security/then either click default level, or go to custom level, choose medium-low, and then "reset". Or, the maximum setting that will allow it to work. I can't remember what it is for hotmail. pbxman

I don't do HotMail, so I'm not sure what settings they're looking for. So just do what pbxman said. (Again!!) Pbxman got another vote from me too.
