Secure FTP to Bank on AS400 V 4.3 1

THE BANK THAT WE TRANSMIT OUR INVOICES TO HAS JUST REQUIRED THAT I SWITCH FROM
THE CURRENT DIAL-UP TO A SECURE FTP. I HAVE AN AS400 BUT IT IS STILL ON V 4.3
AND I AM UNABLE TO UPGRADE. THE BANK CLAIMS THAT I CAN USE THE NATIVE FTP ON
THE AS400 TO SEND TO THEM. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF I CAN DO THIS WITH V 4.3 OR DID
THE FTP ON THE AS400 COME ALONG IN LATER VERSIONS? I TRIED THE FTP COMMAND
"SNDFTPF" AND IT DOES NOT SEEM TO EXIST. BUT THE "FTP" COMMAND DOES. IF I DO
HAVE THE CAPABILITY TO SEND TO THEM PLEASE ADVISE WHERE I CAN GET THE
INFORMATION I NEED TO SET THIS UP AND TRANSMIT. (I AM ABLE TO FTP TO AND FROM
MY PC, BUT I DO ALL THE COMMANDS ON THE PC USING THE "PUT" AND "GET" COMMANDS.
I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO THE COMMANDS ON THE AS400.)
ALSO, THE BANK E-MAILED ME THEIR CERTIFICATE (THEY DO NOT NEED ONE FROM ME) AND
TOLD ME TO SAVE IT AS A .TXT OR .CRT FILE. NOW IT IS ON MY PC. THE BANK
CLAIMS THAT IT IS NEEDED BY MY FTP SOFTWARE, BUT IF I AM USING THE FTP ON THE
AS400, HOW WILL THE SOFTWARE USE A FILE ON MY PC? I AM VERY CONFUSED...

OK, you really need to stop posting in all CAPS because it's bloody annoying.

As for the rest of it I will have a chat with colleagues tomorrow if no one else has come back to you.

Thanks, I appreciate it ... I'm really stumped.
It stinks not being able to upgrade to a current version AND not having software support to even get questions answered ... yet I'm expected to "get the job done".

I have just spoken to out AS400 guys and unfortunately we are using 5.2, he has said that he doesn't think it would be possible to do a secure ftp from 4.3.

As for the crt file, that's a certificate file (see

).

Just been told that Secure FTP wasn't an option on 4.3.
