I'm new to crystal report, I always have trouble to adjust the section section.

Now I just created a report with group headers and foot and the report will be two pages.

The footer section sometimes goes to next page, sometimes stay in the same page. And sometimes the third page is only headers,

How can I adjust these?

Thanks

Here is more information, the two-page report,

When I click preview, the first page and second page look OK, but the third page, there is only page header, group header, and page footer, there are no other sections, like detail, etc.

Because the report is two pages, I added a new page after on section which is a group footer.

Thanks for any suggestions.

In the section expert, instead of checking "new page after" for the group footer, go into the x+2 formula area for "new page after" and add:

not onlastrecord

Thanks, but it's still like that.

I have four group headers and footers, doed it matter?

I have the first two pages displayed correctly.

For all the other pages--which is about 20 records, the first page of the report only shows the group header1, page header and footer, nothing else shows, then all others go to the next page.

Help please

Do you have keep group together on your groups. If so this is the casue of the first page consisting only headers

Thank you, I checked, I didn't keep group together.

This is a letter report with two pages.

I'm very confused why the first page is OK, and all other odd page doesn't display correctly, only has header left, all other sections goes to the next page.

Thanks for any ideas

I assume the first two pages consist of only headers? Is the problem when the detail section starts printing?

Maybe you have "new page before" selected for the detail section.

Thank you,

I don't have the "new page before" checked in the detail section, plus it shows correctly on the first page, but not on the other odd pages.

The first page has page header, group header1 to group header4, group footer 1 to group footer 4, page footer.

Thanks for any ideas and suggestions.

It seems I cannot control what the section shows on which page.

I think you should go to the section expert and explain what you have checked for each section.

Hi, I have report header footer, page header footer, four groups header footer, their section property checked are:

Report header: suppress, keep together
Page header: suppress when at even page,
Group header1: keep together,
Group header2, keep together
Group header3: keep together
Group header4,keep together, suppress
Details : keep together
Group footer 4, keep together, new page after
Group footer 3, keep together,
Group footer 2, keep together
Group footer1, keep together
Page footer, suppress on even page
report footer,keep together, suppress

All the above sections also have free-form placement.

Also note my report is a letter with two pages to K-12 students parents. and the four groups are actually the same, all parents Key.

My datasource is a table, record is like this:

Student1 studentname, studentGrade, Parentname, address
Student2 studentname, studentGrade, Parentname, address

Then in the report design I group parent, for a family may have 1 or more children

Thanks for any suggestions

Right click on the groups in design tab and select "Change Group"

Make sure you do not have "keep group together" checked.

Thank you, but I didn't have it checked.

The problem is now only the first page is shown correctly, but the other odd pages only have group header1 there, then all other sections go to next pages,

Thanks for any more ideas

Sorry,sorry,

I did find in one of my groups there I checked to keep groups together, I previously didn't find it is because I thought there is only one group I need to check, and keep groups-together means to keep all groups together, so didn't check one by one.

Thanks a lot for everybody for your patient help.
