I have recently moved my motherboard and associated peripherals into a new case.

Unfortunately since then I seem to have lost the secondary IDE channel thus losing my CD/CDR drives, I have tried the following to no avail:

1. checked bios - it sees the channel
2. re installed the PCI IDE bus controller and ensured that both channels are activated.
3 checked the CD drives as slaves on the primary channel - they work!
4. changed to brand new IDE cables

Still nothing works - do I need a new motherboard or have I missed something?

re-install system frist.did you change motherboard whitout re-install system ?
or you can check the harddisk on the secondary IDE channel too see if ide 2 work.

Howdy:

This is a "need to ask", but do you have the cable connected properly?? Pin1 on mobo to pin1 on the cd's??

Have you tried a H/D on the secondary? Set it as master and one cd to slave. See if it works. [sup]Tiger[/sup][sub]Flight[/sub] [tiger]
