On the same BCM 400 4.0

At my remote site I have 3 ip2004 sets that are dead every morning when they come in, and will only come to life with a reboot or when they boot their PC which is connected threw the phone. The VPN tunnel is refreshed by the routers every night when no one is in the office. This does not happen at the main site.

Thanks

I guess it would be considered offline ??? not dead?

is the BCM located at the main site? what happens to a pc if it is not connected to the back of the phone but directly connected to the network switch?

Sets are FW ver 0602B76

The PC's do not have a issue it seems to be the sets that have a pc connected to it that is powered down for the night that go offline during the night

Thanks

Dasheen - I know where you are going with this question but 0602B76 indicates that this is either a "phase 0" or "phase 1" IP Phone 2004 which is running the last (mid 2005) firmware for those models.

We don'tknow how your routers are set up but it sure sounds like your internet connection is a PPPoE service and the keepalive feature in the router is not active.

You said the VPN tunnel is refreshed every night by the router but it doesn't sound like it.

If it's not a PPPoE service, then I would have a talk with my ISP because it sure sounds like your internet connection is dropping at night with no traffic on it.
