Outlook 2000 Workgroup or Corporate (I don't remember which, this is a client's machine and I'm trying to help).

Trying to add a second Internet mail account in outlook 2000 and it doesn't seem to be receiving email. If I walk them through the steps in Outlook Express they are able to receive email from this account just fine, but if we try to add this account to Outlook 2k, they are not receiving email and not receiving any error messages either. There is already one internet mail account setup that is working fine with another email host, but when we try to add this second one, no email is received. Any ideas?

Are you creating a second profile and adding the Internet E-Mail service or are you adding the Internet E-Mail service to the same profile? Is the server for the second account supposed to be reached by LAN or dial-up? How does the first mail account connect to it's server? joegz

What type of internet email are you trying to receive? Is it from an ISP or a free account like hotmail?

Attempting to add an additional internet email service to the existing profile. There is one internet email account already, and I'm just trying to add another.

It's just a POP3 account, both dial up and LAN work. The user is connecting through a LAN. If I have the user try to add this service in Outlook Express it works fine, but for some reason in Outlook it seems to be completely ignoring the second Internet Email account.

How does the first mail account connect to it's server?
It's setup as an internet email account (more detail found in the above answers)

Not a free account. It's an email account with the people that host their website. Again, it works fine if I add the account in Outlook Express, just isn't working in Outlook.

I am considering just "Reconfiguring Mail Support" and setting it up as just Internet Mail Only. Does Outlook only allow one Internet email account if you have it set up as "Workgroup or Corporate" for some reason? That's the only thing I can think of. I'll be trying a couple different things today.

Just because something works in OLE does NOT mean it is going to work in OL2000.
