Hi, first post here but have browsed the site regularly looking for advice and tips over the last few years. Thanks to all posters and respondents to date, this site is a wealth of knowledge

Having another equipment failure (pending) and have previously imaged the drive and installed a new one, then later on swapped it over to a replacement system and waited while the XP system repaired itself. I have just done this again due to another hardware failure and am looking to perform a fresh install on a new machine. Problem is I do not have the installation media, and have never done a clean install of Aloha on a new system. Currently running Table Service 6.7.33 on the BOH machine and looking to replace the second order entry TERM2

If anyone is able to provide an image of the TS 6.7.33 installation media that would be greatly appreciated. Even more so, however, would be a guide to installing the TS software on a clean machine, as this I have no idea what I may be in for.

Any thoughts on how the system might run if using an older version of the software (say, 6.7.22) on TERM2 and 6.7.33 on TERM1 (which is also the BOH machine)

Thanks in advance

Floor terminals do not require any media to install. Depending on how you start aloha on the FOH will decide what is the best way to go. If you are using RAL then you just need to let it install.
If you are using the full ibercfg.bat then just copy the aloha folder from term1 to term2.
Change the line set term=1 to set term=2. then just start it.

Ibercfg.bat should look something like this

SET IBERROOT=Aloha
SET LOCALDIR=C:\Aloha
SET CALIBRATE=C:\Aloha\bin\calib.exe
SET EDCPATH=\\ALOHABOH\BOOTDRV\Aloha\EDC
SET TERMSTR=TERM
SET TERM=1
SET NUMTERMS=5
SET SERVER=ALOHABOH
SET MASTERCAPABLE=TRUE
SET SERVERCAPABLE=TRUE
SET DOUBLECLICK=TRUE
SET AUTOEXIT=TRUE
SET REBOOTNT=FALSE
COPY %LOCALDIR%\newbin\*.* %LOCALDIR%\bin
ECHO y | DEL %LOCALDIR%\newbin\*.*
START C:\Aloha\BIN\IBER.EXE

Thanks, thought I was in for a bit more hassle than that. Sounds quite simple and I can check the existing contents of IBERCFG before I commence (not using RAL)

Is there anything I need to drop onto a clean XP install first? i.e. dot NET frame work, C++ redist, or something else along those lines? Or is it as simple as install XP, then copy the Aloha directory and establish IBERCFG at Startup

If you are using Radiant machines, make sure you have installed the P15XX drivers.

There is nothing else required on the FOH. When Aloha starts up the first time it will register any needed files and then log off and back on or reboot depending you your SET REBOOTNT=FALSE or =True

Thanks AlohaRoss, my replacement hardware finally arrived *exasperated sigh* (I need a new supplier) and as you described it was that easy to set up. Great advice and much appreciated.

Cheers

CarmensItalian,

Who are you currently using as your supplier? Where are you located.
