Hi There

I wonder if anyone can help me come up with a solution to my problem. I have been working on it all morning and am getting nowhere.

I have a series of workbooks in a directory. There is no set number of workbooks in this directory although each workbook will have the same layout. I also have a summary workbook. I would like to search specific cells in the same worksheet in each of the workbooks(excluding the summary one) and if a value of "yes" is found then the corresponding cell in the summary workbook becomes yes. Im not sure whether this can be done by using the consolidation feature or whether I need to use VBA. I would be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction of where to begin

Elsie,

Check out the FileSystemObject to loop thru the files in a folder. I usually search in VB Help for Folders. Each workbook will have to be opened, the appropriate sheet/cell referenced nd the workbook closed.

Post back with your code when you need help.
