im searching a field but when no records are found i cant refresh the recordset, im using dao. since i cant refresh the recordset if i test for eof it checkes the old recordset.

this is the code i was using after the search string is put into sqlstmt:

datMem.RecordsetType = 1
datMem.DatabaseName = DatabaseName$
datMem.RecordSource = SQLStmt
datMem.Refresh

any help?

instead of using the refresh mthod use Requery.
datMem.Requery
