I am looking for a conference phone that would work with our IP office 403

SO far I found Polycom Soundstation 2 Avaya with 2 ext. mics for 719.99USD.

Does anybody have any experience with conference room phones?
What kind of phones do you use for that purpose?

IP 403 use an analog conference phone because IP doesn't work on this. The Polycom is a good phone, we usually use this brand

Is there any phone you can recommend or you have experience with?

If you're looking for a wireless conference room phone, the Polycom Soundstation 2 works really well with the IPO and it's the only one we use with our systems. However, unless you're setting it on a BIG conference table and will be sitting more than 6-8 feet away from the speaker, you don't really need to spend the additional money on the two extra microphones because the built in microphones receive very well. The wired Polycom Soundstations work well also (and they're cheaper), you just may have to deal with the wire being in the way depending on your setup/installation. I definitely recommend the Polycom product(s) as a conference room communication solution.

Since we have the plugs built-in in our conference table, I think it is not necessary to go with the wireless.
I think best is the SoundStation2EX for 559USD
And if we extend our conference room in the future, we can add mics

Thank you very much everyone for your help!

So now we do have the Polycom SoundStation2

I hooked it up in our conference room, but it doesn't recognize our landline. We are using the IP office403.

Do I need a special setup?

You need to use one of the analogue ports, what do you mean by doesn't recognise the land line?

What I mean is that usually when I plug in a phone it does recognize the setting. So what extension and name it is i.e. Max 1424
If I plug in the polycom it doesn't do that, I cannot even dial out or receive a call. I send the config again in the software but still nothing. If I unplug the polycom and plug in the old phone again, it recognize the settings right away and I can make calls and receive.
Old phone is 4412D+

Ben - it sounds like you are plugging it in to a digital port. You need to patch it to an analogue extension port.
There are two on the 403.

OK now I have a problem
The 2 analogue port are reserved for fax and alarm system

Who told me IP doesn't work?
Now I have to find a solution for that

It's too old for that unfortunately, and you should never ever run alarms through any system :)

Well than how could I change the alarm system? Guess thats what I have to find out

You need an analogue line from the PSTN that's how most people do it, running through the system means they kill the power or system and there is no alarm..... Not ideal :)

Well I just return it and will go with an IP phone
He offered me to exchange it with an 2490 or 4690
Does anyone know those phones?

Yes, and as has been said they will not work, they are for Definity/CM systems only :)

But why will they not work? I don't really understand that
We have the 4412D+ and those are IP phone right?
So what is the difference? I am confused

Wrong, the 4412D+ is a digital phone not IP, it connects via a cable to one of the systems digital ports, it does not connect via the network. Avaya make more than one system and as such different handsets work with those systems, the two you mentioned are both for the Avaya CM/Definity system and wiil not work on the IP Office. Also the 2490 is digital and the 4690 is IP :)

So are there any conference phones which will work?
