Hello ,

Is there anybody that have experience in
a web site connected to a DSL+ line at 1Mbs

I would try to know if 1Mbs is a good bandwith ?
Is a max 300 simultaneously connections can be supported ?
( it run mainly 40 simultanously connections )
This web site is mainly ( 90% time ) for pages consutation,
- without java , and pages are controlled to be about 25 ko , little snmp traffic on a webmail -

Thanks for your precious advises on it

Have a nice day
Regards Steph.

Greetings Leo-Steph

It sounds like you want to host a website on your ADSL connection.

Keep in mind that when an end-user is downloading a web page from you, your download speed is irrelevant. What counts is upload. I don't know who your provider is but 1 Mb ADSL usually has +/- 128 kbps up. that is the speed browsers will have to contend with. If your page has barely any traffic and practically no images, it could be OK.

Best of luck

Bdahl

Thanks bdahl ,

I would precise that the connection is a DSL+ line , not an classic ADSL line with symetric 1Mb in upload & download.

I hope that it could be fine ?

Hello Leo-Steph

Ah, this sounds more like Synchronous DSL. That should be more than adequate for most websites, some people I know even host e-commerce sites on their SDSL feeds.

Just make sure that your security settings are optimal.

Good luck!
