Hello,

Does anyone know how to search for contacts in the Lotus Notes Address books (public and private) from a Visual Basic application?

I have seen many valuable thread posted on editing the body of emails, etc, but have had no luck finding out how to peruse the address books in Lotus Notes from a Visual Basic program.

Thanks.

Swi,

I tried that.
The only address book it pulls contacts from is my personal address book stored locally. I need contacts pulled from both the personal address book and the address book(s) on our email server.

So I changed the "GetDatabase" line of code to use my server name instead of empty quotes and my file name instead of just "names.nsf".

When I did that, it gives me a runtime error 91 "Object variable of With block variable not set" when it gets to the
domViewNav line of code.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Dave

You may want to post this question on as well as the lotus notes forum here. You may find answers in "NotesScript"--which is basically a VB clone in Notes--that can translate into VB.
