I'm using MF XPe FR2 with Windows 2000 server SP3(and tested with SP2 same problem)... using a published application.

I'm having a problem where "for the moment" one Pc is able to lock my server (the Pc is a Dell Optiplex GX1 PIII)...when it tries to log on to the server it stays stuck on the logon process, if you try to start another session you get the message "Seamless connection already exists" and where the problems really start is when any other user tries to logon he gets the same message....and the only way to solve my problem is to reboot my server.
I can't even access my server by terminal services client, and sometimes when I'm on the server console I lose the whole desktop on the server...no more icones nothing.

I really need ideas here, I'm afraid to find out that I can cause this problem with other PCs that I have....

Are you using roaming profiles? I've seen the long delays when trying to load a very large profile (bloated by temporary internet files). If it is trying to load the profile, it will sit at that screen or sometimes go to a completely blank screen while it's downloading the profile. If you try to make another connection, it thinks your other one is fine and will not let you create another and give you the message you are receiving.

As far as others not being able to connect, I'm not sure what the cause of that would be.

Check the profile size (if you're using roaming profiles) and post back here with the results, then we'll go from there.

I did verify the profile and even created a new one, still same problem...

I want to make sure I have this right:

When this one user connects, the console locks up while the logon process is going on at the workstation? If you can successfully bring up task manager on the server, what is it reporting for CPU utilization, and in what program?

John

The CPU is not utilized more than at another time...and its for Globetek a software used by my company...

My next step would be to check filemon and regmon and see what the executable is doing. If you haven't used these utils before, go to and download both of them. Put in the executable name of the published app and filemon and regmon will report what is going on behind the scenes.

If you have used these programs before, sorry about the detailed explanation.

you'll want to make sure they dont have any ghost connections. check the citrix managment console. go to the application published they are trying to use, and you'll prolly see that user in disconnected status.
check that first.

Exklusve - Good idea, and I thought of that also, but he has to reboot the server to clear everything up. That would clear the disconnected session if there was one.

John

I do get disconnected sessions, but even if I log them off it doesn't change anything, I notice on the server that if I keep trying to open a session the application starts ithe process (GT5.exe) but the application doesn't start. The application still works because people that were already on the application can still work...
