My main machine was having trouble connecting to BCM's (cannot determine the device type).
Version build 1.8.0_401

I did do the MD5 & TLS fixes in the security file.

My backup machine is ok and runs 1.8.0_301

On my main machine I downloaded and installed build 1.8.0_301
I left 401 installed since you can run several versions at the same time, even disable them if needed via console/java/view.

So now it works, but I am wondering if others have issues with 401, if so what was the last working version you had working.

There are several builds between 1.8.0_301 and 1.8.0_401

Thanks

I'm in the process of migrating my Win7 PC to a Win10 PC. I copied in my Element Manager, and downloaded the latest version of Java.

I edited the java.security file to remove referrals to MD5 and had the same problem as you.

I then copied in the java.security file from my Win7 PC to my Win10 PC and now it works with the latest Java (1.8.0_421).

There must be something in the latest java.security file that we're overlooking.

I had mine running up until this morning with my workaround, I have the old version running too.

In the console under Java/View, I had 3 versions installed:

1.8.0_301 X86 (32 BIT) I had this one Enabled
1.8.0_401 X86 (32 BIT) I had this one Enabled
1.8.0_401 X86_64 (64 BIT) I had this one Disable

So I was working because I also had 301 installed and enabled.

Today I downloaded an offline 421, went with the flow, chose to uninstall old versions, did the hack, now I am working fine on 421 only.

I'm using the 32 bit version on my Windows 11 laptop

JAVA_VERSION="1.8.0_391"
JAVA_RUNTIME_VERSION="1.8.0_391-b13"
OS_NAME="Windows"
OS_VERSION="5.1"
OS_ARCH="i586"
SOURCE=".:git:d362daf76f2c+"
BUILD_TYPE="commercial"

I will see if it can be upgraded.

Yes it should be able per above on my Win 11.

I think it was just a glitch with the 401 release.

I am thankful for the ability to run several versions and enable/disable as needed.
