Hi,
I recently installed a new SDLT 320 driver on my Sun E450 machine, our OS is Solaris 2.6 Generic_105181-16. After I installed new tape driver, I didn't apply any OS patch and the device was working well. But on last week, the tape driver offen fail when do backup, the error messages as following. And I also got a messages from Sun's web site that is the Solaris 2.6 is not support SDLT320, it must apply some patch. My question is what patch is need applied on Solaris 2.6 to support SDLT 320 and how to check whether I have successfully applied these patchs?

Hi,

I think you are looking for patch: Patch-ID# 105505-16

During installation of the patch you will be informed if the patch was not installed correctly. Be sure to read the README file before installing the patch.

The command to check which patches are installed is:

showrev -p

Hi Joe,
Thanks for your reply.
I checked this patch and found this patch is just for x86 machine, but our architecture is sparc, so I think this patch maybe is not right.

I found another patch 105847-14 on Sun's web site, this patch is about SDLT driver for Solaris 2.6 of sparc machine, but I'm not sure it is correct, are there anybody know about this patch?

Thanks,
microsky

Hi,
I successfully applied patch 105847-14 yesterday, but I got the same error(as below).
This problem is just appear on a new tape, I think maybe it is media error, but the error message don't like media error. Anybody know about this problem?

Up!
Are there anyone know anything about this issue?

It may be a hardware problem with your SCSI HBA, cable or the tape drive itself. Have you spares you can try instead?

Annihilannic.

I had checked st.conf file, we have modified this file as following, but problem is also existing.

Thanks!
