SD Card replacement 2

I have an SD card that looks corrupt in a remote system that I need to work with on site guy to replace. Would just like to confirm what I am planning is correct or if there is a better way. This is a Server Edition and the IP500v2 with the faulty SD is an expansion system running on 11.1.2.0, the rest of the solution is running on 11.1.3.2 so would want to also upgrade the system to match. I ask as I was struggling to find the process for a gateway that is happily working and is just showing "System not running System SD primary software" on System Status.
  1. install 11.1.3.2 manager on remote engineers PC
  2. Access the IP500v2 directly by its IP from manager and File/Save Configuration as
  3. Using PC SD Card reader insert the new Avaya Supplied SD card and Recreate SD card (guessing would not need to format a new Avaya supplied card)
  4. Shutdown the SD card on the gateway - File/Advanced/Memory Card Command/Shutdown
  5. Remove SD when LED is off
  6. still with the SD card out erase the config on the gateway - Erase configuration (default) with the manager
  7. wait 3 mins then insert the new SD card
  8. once system is up send the cfg saved in step 2
  9. check system is working and has got license from the WebLM running on the primary server
Just wondering if the last 4 steps are correct or if inserting the new card and rebooting would boot the new software from the SD and still see the config on the gateway.

Really no need for step 6 unless your config is corrupt. Personally I would copy the config.cfg file off the old card and put it on the new card before putting it in. On a side note. Before going to all that work I would try shutting down the card, pop it out and reinsert it. Reboot and see if the error goes away.

we did pop the card out and in and reboot and it did go away for a couple of days then came back. Config is fine on the box so will

  1. install 11.1.3.2 manager on remote engineers PC
  2. Access the IP500v2 with file manager and download the config.cfg from current SD
  3. Using PC SD Card reader insert the new Avaya Supplied SD card and Recreate SD card (guessing would not need to format a new Avaya supplied card)
  4. copy config.cfg file to new SD /System/PRIMARY
  5. Shutdown the SD card on the gateway - File/Advanced/Memory Card Command/Shutdown
  6. Remove SD when LED is off
  7. insert the new SD card
At this point reboot to test, or start up the new SD?

A couple of steps to add.

I suspect you will need to reboot the IP500 for it to recognise the new SD card.
Rehost any licences you have directly against the SD cards host ID.

so I will reboot for step 8, and as its SE and all Analogue/Digital Phones (no local trunks) at the site there is no license against the gateway itself just what's on WebLM.

Cheers both of you for your help.
