I have an issue with the SD card on a IP 500 V2 running 7.0(12). When I try to enter Embedded File Management, it tells me "there is no active memory card found on the system". When I look in system status, there is no card listed under the System Hardware Summary. Weird thing is, my licenses are all still there and show valid. Any ideas what is going on? I've been recommended to format the SD card and recreate it using my laptop, but would this erase my licenses? Thanks!

First disable the card with SSA and then enable it again.

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

then remove it physically and re seat.
Open monitor and go to "filters" -> "services" and enable "memory commands"
Show what you see in there.

Did you change it from Quick edition to IPOffice mode?
Recreate it again, will take 15-20 min or so.

I've seen this over a dozen times in the past couple months. Usually an eject and then re-insert of the card will fix but twice I had to replace it.

your licenses are part of the config, so as long as you have a backup (which you would need anyway) you'll be fine.

Format and recreate using Manager, not a windows format.

Jamie, sometimes you cannot format it with Manager because it is not seen by Windows.
It will ask you to format it with Windows which i have done successfully in the past.

In this cases you could try as last resort.

ask if i use windows to formart the Sd card. will the sd card be damaged

You should not do that (avaya mentioned that!) but i have done it before when the card was not recognized anymore and it still works.

Formatting with windows

I would treat this as the option of last resort.
if the card is not working & everything else has failed then you would be needing to replace the card anyway so you cant make things any worse.

Computers are like Air conditioners:-
Both stop working when you open Windows

IPGuru, indeed as last resort but!

I had one of the first SD cards and it gave problems with 6.0.8 and you know them too i guess.

What happened is that the only thing i could do was reformat with Windows.
I tried because i had nothing to loose (demo system)
I did a quick format and i kept formatting it with Manager after that.
I think it is still working (Bas1234 need to confirm that)
I never had problems with it at all.

The ones from the demo room all still work. We moved to the Pieters room, so no more server noise :)

So you moved all or only the Avaya part?
Who is sitting in the noise now?

If the problem persist, check if your SDCARD is a SANDISK. If yes, change to Kigston. The problem is that the SDCARD is SANDISK.

I don't remember if this problema is only with 7.x o 6 too.

tlpeter, send you a message on linkedin.
