We had all sorts of SCSI timeouts, lockups and slow throughput using Win2K, ArcServe and an Overland Autoloader.
After much messing about, I saw a suggestion on the TapeWare site to disable the drive in Device Manager. This stopped the software from being able to see it, so it didn't help.
However, disabling the Removable Storage Manager service
stopped the errors and put throughput up to 1 G/Min.
