Hi There,

I just installed a sony CD-R/RW CRX215A1 in my Gateway PIII 450 mhz/ Windows 2000 pro machine. The machine booted fine. The machine runs fine and I can play audio CD's from the CD-R/RW. When I try to run the CD-R/RW burner software (B's recorder GOld5.09) I get a blue screen and the error:

"Stop:0x000000D1 (0x000000DB, 0x00000012, 0x00000000, 0xEB4571787)
Driver_IRQL_not_les_or_equal"

My config is: one Adaptec SCSI card in PCI 1 (I have a Zip 100 hooked to that which functions)
one Ethernet card in PCI 2 that came with the computer

hard Drive is Master on Primary IDE
CD-R/RW is now the master on Secondary IDE with the CD-Rom that came with the computer as the slave.

I am running WIndows 2000 Pro service pack 3 (see below)

From what I have researched it is a conflict between the IRQ of my Primary and Secondary IDE and the SCSI host controllers (see below). I have been unable to change the IRQ's in the Bios. I have tried turning on and off Plug and play but that doesn't help. I tried dissabling the serial com's IRQ's to free up IRQ's and that did not help.

1) Do I need the RAID/SCSI drivers and how can I get rid of them if I do not need them?

2) How can I change the IRQ's in my Bios?

3) Is there an upgraded Bios that will allow me to change the IRQ's?

4) Any other way to get rid of the SCSI host controllers?
using the same IRQ's as the IDE's?

Thanks in advance,

Marc

Could be something as simple as the aspi drivers needing a fix.
Try this site:

Other than that - use Nero :)

Also - you can try disabling the red devices in device manager and see if you can burn then - but since the PC works fine and the IOMEGA works off the SCSI controller - that shouldn't be the problem. I think it's the ASPI layer.

Give it a shot. pbxman

Thanks pbxman

I went to the link but the ASPI updater is not compatible with Windows2000 according to Sony. I hate to spend more money to get Nero when I just bought this CD-RW. Do you think it might be that my y2k just needs to be repaired or a clean install? I was able to get the software to open when I uninstalled the SCSI/Raid drivers but once I rebooted they were reloaded. I even took out and uninstalled the SCSI PCI card but that did no help.
