Please help me..any help would be greatly appreciated thank you. Here is my problem:

I installed ADAPTEC SCSI PCI CONTROLLER CARD Ultra 160 29160N. My TYAN TRINITY KT BIOS system detected it, but now win 2000 does not detect the ADAPTEC SCSI HARD DRIVE. The cable is properly terminated, so i know that's not the problem. i tried using MS SCSI driver and Adaptec's latest driver--which is MS certified, too and win 2000 still does not see the SCSI hhd. i even updated TYAN'S bioS and the scsi controller card bios, and those didn't work either. I moved the controller card in different PCI slots, and tried each one, but none of them worked.
i found out thru SYSTEM INFORMATION that the scsi controller card uses IRQ 11, which are also shared by the video card, sound card, and the usb port. Well, MS support site says to disable IRQ bus mastering, esp. for ACPI. i did that, but my pc keeps re-booting and re-booting. So, I re-enabled ACPI in my pc's bios just so my pc can load win 2000 properly. BUT now, im back to square 1. i would really appreciate all the help I can get. thank You again.[afro]

And you ran fdisk to create a partition that 2000 can see?

Ed, thanks for your reply. But no, i did not. As my win 2000 normal IDe hhd is in ntfs format, fdisk does not work since it is use only for fat format. I would love to use fdisk, if only the scsi card can detect the scsi drive in the 1st place. i guess i will just have to install the entire scsi card and hhd in another separate pc w/o any hhd in it. thanks for your reply again. I really appreciate it[afro2]

on boot up u will get the scsi option does it see the hard drive there. As a Device!
