OK,
Here's my first dumb question. How do I slow down the scrolling in Word 97? For example, highlighting a couple of lines in a paragraph. When I try this I usually end up highlighting all the way to the bottom of the document. I dont have this problem in Excel.

Thanks for any help!

I would suggest use the shift key and down arrow instead. I don't think anyone has found a way to slow down the scroll yet.

If anyone has, I would love to know. "Age is a high price to pay for maturity."

I looked for this on google the other day, and this is a 'feature'. I forget where I saw it (good start) but according to MS it's a problem with the video card being too fast - so downgrade your PC and it'll work fine!
Rumour has it this is fixed in Word 2002, I've not seen it though so who knows.

An alternative to shift-down arrow is to click at the start of the selection, use your mouse to scroll down and then shift-click at the end of the selection. This works better if you have a wheely though.

cheers
Rob
