How do I start with putting a script together that will start apache 2 and tomcat as the server starts.Thanks.

Apache already has a start/stop shell $APACHE_HOME/bin/apachectl. You can pass start/stop on the command line which means you can have a simple shell to do what you want. I'm not sure about tomcat...

Tomcat has a start and stop script in the ~/tomcat/bin/ directory (startup.sh & shutdown.sh I think), you could create a an init.d file which will do the same thing for you as the hhtpd file does in the init.d. Don't forget the symlinks in the runlevels (rc2.d etc) IBM Certified Confused - MQSeries
