Hello all, I'm trying to get a screensaver to work on a 9608G. I've made the entries in the 46xxsettings.txt file, sized the image as recommended, saved as a jpeg, and moved it to the same folder as the 46xxsettings.txt file, but it still won't activate. We're running CM5.2.1 so the 9608G's are aliased as 9640's. Would that make a difference or not? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks In Advance.

I've had problems with the specific image formats/file sizes/colors etc.
It was on IPO when I last did it, and I took the default Avaya bmp or jpg on the IPO, opened in paint, copy/paste, save, and it worked. The phones are picky.

The screen saver size is always better a few pixels smaller than the recommendation in the lan admin guide , when the phone boots do you actually see it go looking for the file on the screen immediately after it has found the 46xx settings file even if its the wrong size etc you should still see xxxxx.jpg ... also it has taken two boot cycles for the phone to pick up the file ???

Sorry to barge in on your post but I have been thinking about doing this for some time myself.
Is there a way to test it on one phone rather than edit the 46xx file?

@newglide. No. You need to edit the 46xxsettings.txt file to add SET SCREENSAVER filename in order to load the file into the phone. To test on a single phone, put that phone in a different group and put that line in a IF $GROUP SEQ switch.

and is logo.jpeg a correct size saver for your phones , i have it working across muliple sites on multiple 96xx phones , what size is the jpg how have you created it?? what about how long it takes to come on ????

It's about 23KB & 320 X 160 pixels, I have it set to come on in about one minute

It's a black and white image that I saved as a jpeg. Would saving it as a .bmp work?

ive never used .bmp always followed the lan admin guide to the letter and never had an issue ,,, i reckon you have it in the incorrect directory put it in the root drive I.E C:\ of where your 46xx settings file is rather than the folder that the 46xx file is in

That may the issue, I have it in the same folder as the settings file. So place it in the root?

try it but im going from memory here and never had an issue .... but if your 46xx is in c:/cm/settings/46xx try it in all sub folders back to root.....sorry pal the only time i have had an issue with this is firmware and screensaver size im just trying to pull old thoughts out my brain... keep me posted though as this is a simple process//////// i know its doing your head in but its going to be ... file size...colors...location in 46xx or you have ahd too much abysntyh

I'm using MV_IPTel, I also have a 46xxsettings.scr file in the HTTP folder along with the 46xxsettings.txt file. Do you thing that's causing it not to work. And I'll read the LAN Admin manual again.

OK, I got it to work on all of my 9641G, but still no success with the 9608G's
