Hi, I am having trouble configuring a screensaver on a 9611g ip phone. I tried uploading the file 46xxsettings.txt from a pc which has the Manager folder and the PBX from Embedded File Management. Both seemed to have uploaded fine with the same results: 240 min before it goes to screensaver and the wrong jpg shows on the display. I used the file from Retro Logos Screensaver:thread940-1754802: Retro Logos Screensavers on IP Phones (9620, 9630, 9608), and modified the 9608 settings to 9611. The only difference between uploads is a file S9608_11HALBR6_6_0_29_V474.tar is coming up invalid after uploading to the ip phone. The firmware on the ip phone is 6.4014 if this helps. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thank you.

does it say "- 200" when it tries to download the 46xxsettings?

And upon obtaining the 46xx settings file does your 9611 look for your correct screensaver.jpg file?

Yes I got it to work with the required settings, but I noticed the screensaver.jpg moves around on some phones but not on others. I noticed the phones that boot up with the Avaya one-X logo, the screensaver is stationary but the phone that boots up with Avaya logo, the screensaver moves around. Is it because of the one-X firmware and is there a workaround? Thanks.

It moves around as long as the jpg is smaller than the phone display.

I tried making the jpg smaller, but the results were the same.

You need it bigger to have it not moving around.

All the phones are 9611g and they all have the same screensaver.jpg. The problem is some of them move and some don't. The customer wants them all to move. The difference is during boot up the phones that displayed the Avaya one-X, the screensaver.jpg after boot up does not move. But the one that displayed the Avaya logo during boot up, and when done after boot up the screensaver.jpg does move. I believe it's the firmware from the Avaya one-x ip phone vs the Avaya H.323 ip phone both 9611g.

Those 9611G are on two different firmware releases. The one with just the Avaya logo is more current. Upgrade them all to that release.

I wish I had nothing better to do than wait for a screensaver to kick in then see if it moves slightly or not, seriously, they must live sheltered lives :)

Thanks gwebster, how do I upgrade them to the current release. I changed the sig to h.323 but it didn't upgrade. Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks gwebster had the wrong files, that did it!!!

@amriddle01
I had a customer ask me to stop their screen saver from moving because it distracted them. I kid you not. #ADD

I used to have super powers but my therapist took them away...
