screenprinting color seperations

i'm used to using corel draw and cannot translate the color seperations into freehand. is it a completely different process?
 
Need more information. Are you trying to import color seps? Export color seps? You can easily export color separations from the Freehand print dialog->advanced button (print settings).

If you're trying to import from corel, maybe your spot colors are getting translated into CMYK? Or working in RGB?

I'm not too familiar with Corel, but Freehand does perform fairly well in the import/export category. I would need more detail of what exactly you're trying to accomplish in order to help.
