hello guys

how can i activate/create a screen saver in vfp

regards

I don't know how to create a screen saver in VFP (why would you want to?), but invoking it is easy. Just run the SCR file with "/S" on the command line, for example like so:

RUN MySaver.SCR /S

all i want is to quit the program when the user is not on his/her desk on for a while, just to prevent corruptions of files.

thanks and God bless

Invoking a screen save doesn't quit the program. It only prevents other people from accessing the computer (and only if it is password-protected).

If that's what you want, there seems no point in doing this from within your application. The user can set the screen saver to invoke automatically when the computer is idle.

If he creates a screen saver he can do whatever he wants, also shut down an application. I'd rather not do so, but it would be possible.

You only need to find a way or policy to not allow users to turn screen saver off or chose another screen saver.

I'd rather implement an inactivity timer in your app instead of a seperate programm. You'd have much better control about what to do than from a screen saver running as a seperate process.

That said Calvin Hsia has shown how to do a vfp screensaver here:

Bye, Olaf.

many thanks to you guys ill try to visit the site

God bless
