Screen is narrow and I can't adjust width

Hi all,

I just reformated my c: drive and installed WinME. The default monitor setting of 800x600 works fine. But when I change the setting to 1024x768 or above , the screen adjusts properly vertically but leaves a black strip about 1" in width on both sides of the monitor (thus causing a "squished" effect). I cannot move my mouse onto the two black strips.

I have installed ME from the same CD before without any problems. I'm also too lazy to reformat/reinstall.

Any suggestions???

Hey SSjpn,
Have you tried the settings on your monitor? try adjusting it with the vertical and horizontal settings. -Feryl

Hey, would you also happen to know why it happened? I mean why did the monitor get reset to a more narrow setting this time I reinstalled ME and never before??

You know Windows is messed up It always changes its setting especially when you reinstall an OS. You also need to adjust it when you play your games, playing a video, etc. Windows is programmed to make us whine more and make us all stressed out .
