Hi,

I have successfully uploaded a simple 85 seconds hold music. It is working great but just before the music loop (after 85 secondes), there's a quiet annoying "SCREECH" sound (like an old scratched vinyl).

Let me tell you that it makes me jump quiet a bit.

When I listen to that wav file with Audacity (or any other wave file player) that weird sound is not there.

What could cause that ?

Regards,

Update : I listen to the file on a linux-based computer, and the annoying sound is not there. It look like Avaya is adding this sound on it's own.

Try uploading a different file for testing purposes, also try removing the last seconds or so of silence and see it that changes anything :)

For a server edition the file must be HoldMusic.wav and cannot be holdmusic.wav or Holdnusic.wav

@Bas1234 If I name the file anything else than HoldMusic.wav, it is simply not working. As stated, it is working, but in-between loops there's an added sound.

Well I tried some other wave files and I have the same problem.

But maybe that's because we misused Audacity or the conversion process from MP3s to wav file.

Can someone would be nice enough to share with me their holdmusic.wav file staight from their system ? That way I would be able to pinpoint the problem...

Thanks,

-homerggg

@holdmusic34 Well look at that, your file is working flawlessly. There's probably something wrong with the way we convert from mp3 to wav file. We will look into that, but for now your file will do the trick.

Thanks a lot !

Indeed, I have seen heard audacity generated files sound odd on IPO before, even though they sound fine in windows :)

Can you believe the audacity of that program to do that? :)

I would just be sure of the file format.... The file properties should be: PCM, 8kHz 16-bit, mono

Hi,

It look like it was because of the tags that were added to the file (author, composer, etc.).

I removed them (in Audacity that is after selecting Export...) and voilà ! No more weird sound at the end.

And I'm happy.

You can goto system\telephony\Audio tab and select Genre. Change from rap to elevator to remove the scratching sound.
