Hi.

I have a bunch of (very old) servers with SCO 5.0.6 (or earlier). Now I need to configure every one of them to be time servers (so that Thin Clients, which are connected to them, can syncronize to them).
So, please, how to configure /etc/ntp.conf file, and how to start ntpd daemon?

Thanks.

Thanks PHV, you sure were quick.
It helped a lot.

Still, I have problems. I started ntp, as was recomended, and I get:
Code:
# ps -ef|grep ntp
    root 334 1 0 13:31:08 ? 00:00:00 ntpd -g
    root 633 591 2 13:38:10 ttyp0 00:00:00 grep ntp
# ntpq -p
remote refid st t when poll reach delay offset jitter
==============================================================================
*LOCAL(1) LOCAL(1) 3 l 11 64 177 0.000 0.000 0.000

So, ntp started OK, right?

But, when I try to syncronize a Windows machine to the above machine, a get an error, and when I try to syncronize Linux machine, I get
Code:
pu10678:~ # ntpdate -u 172.16.250.15
5 Sep 13:38:00 ntpdate[16523]: no server suitable for synchronization found

It seems than machines can't syncronize to the SCO machine I configured. Why?

Please, please, please. Can anyone help me???
Thanks.
