Does anyone know the commands to backup data files to a r-w cdrom. I do not want to close the session on the cd.

You may consider cdrecord

Hope This Helps, PH.

I have about 10 machines using cdrecord making backups of data each evening.
There are a series of programs supplied along with the cdrecord, one of which is mkisofs which creates an ISO format CD that is mountable as a file system and readable.
