Hello All

I've been trying to get SCO to print to an Okidata ML320 Parallel port printer on a WinXP Home box

I've tried both SAMBA and adding it as a remote printer in 'scoadmin' SAMBA does nothing for me and while I get output with the remote printer setting it is not in a format that I need. is there a way I can do this that's format is able to be edited so I can make it look the way I need it?

For $170, add a jetdirect print server since both oses support ip printing.

My guess is that your Samba printing configurations were not correct. We use Samba to print to printers on windows 95 and 98 machines, but we don't have any XP machines.

Yes you can customize the format of the print job by editing the printer interface file, but it can be rather tedious. If you are comfortable with scripting I may be able to give you some pointers since I have done this for several of my printers.
