We have installed as usual a DL380 with SmartArray 6i and we get this message into syslog.

Jan 12 19:31:21 server_xx12 WARNING: ciss <slot 0> : SCSI bus speed downshifted, SCSI port 2

The system works but the performance of our HD are not the best.

Any solutions ?

This message wasn't followed by a physical drive failure?
Maybe start the system with the Compaq smartstart cd and examine the disk by the ACU utility. This might give you some more information.

Any change in SCSI cabling? I've seen this where I've installed a SCSI3 device on a SCSI3 controller, but had to use a 68pin to 80pin adapter. High speed SCSI must adhere to strict cabling specs. A TAPE drive (not likely on a RAID controller) could also cause this symptom. What is connected to your SCSI controller?

"Proof that there is intelligent life in Oregon. Well, Life anyway.

no dlt or others tapes connected to this controller. Only HD.

there are 4 hd 72GB 15k rpm

3 are used for RAID 5
1 it is a spare disk
