I am new to SCO UNIX. The GUI (is it scologin?) on my SCO unix 3.2v5.0.4 server is kind of neat. I would rather use this than the command line. Can I bring this GUI up on my PC running exceed or any other X windows software. What command do I need to run after telnet into the SCO server....
Currently this GUI is running on the server console.

Yes, the easiest way to connect to your GUI session is to use software that supports X traffic. Two popular emulators we use here at the office ar SMARTERM X and Kea X. As long as you have telnet open on the server all the configuration is done on the emulator side.

Good Luck

Thanks romoon66.
I downloaded a trial version of smarterm. I can open an x session to the server using telnet. Can you please tell me how to open up the graphical sco, Is it possible? On the console it somes up after I login using the graphical SCO login (scologin)...

That's XDM or XDMCP

On SC, xdm is handled by "scologin". See the "Specifying X servers" section of "man scologin" Tony Lawrence
