To All,

Is there some parameter somewhere which would limit the size of a file that may be sent to a network printer, and if so, can I change it?

Joe

If you use lpd take a look at the mx# parameter in the /etc/printcap file.

Hope This Helps, PH.

PH,

Thanks, but the ultimate command that is used is: cat printfile | lp -dnetworkprinter, and I can not see where to work in the mx# parameter. Can you help further?

Thanks,

Joe

In the man printcap page pay attention to the mx configurable option.
If you don't want any size limit and if networkprinter is defined in /etc/printcap, just add :mx#0: at then end of its definition line.
