I' ve installed a lot of Unix System with Sco Open Server and Hp Proliant.
Now with this machine who has sata hdd i have problem, after the first boot on a display appears:
Unexpected trap in kernel mode:

Series of memory value

Panic:K_trap_Kernel mode trap type 0x0000000e
Unable to freeze processor 2, proceeding....
Cannot dump 262007 pages to dumdev hd (1,41) : Space for only 0 pages
Dump not completed
Safe to power off.

I' ve installed the system with a Btld floppy generated from Sco website, after I' ve installed the SM, the maintenance pack5 and the Hp Efs 5.770a.
All the rom are at the last release.
Thanks for suggestions.

You may be having the same problem I am having, the lack of sata drivers for SCO 5.0.7.
I have an open question in this forum about it: Drivers for Sata controller

I do know that SCO version 6 has more available drivers for Sata controllers

Sorry I could not provide better help.

Joe

You will need to obtain the latest BTLD disk from SCO's ftp site at:

ftp://ftp.sco.com/SLS

The filename is oss604a.boot. To transfer it to a floppy disk using
dd or rawrite, follow the instructions given in Technical Article 105694. At this
point, you should reboot the machine and begin the installation
again with the updated boot disk.

At the boot: prompt, enter the following boot string:

defbootstr disable=ida link="cha ida" hd=ida(0) Srom=wd(1,0,0,0)

Depending on your hardware configuration, you will have to edit the
Srom entry according to your setup.

During the installation, it is possible that, at approximately 76%,
you will receive this error:

memsize: invalid checksum
/opt/K/SCO/link/1.1.1/Eb/etc/conf/bin/iddeftune:test: argument
expected

Press <Enter> to continue.

Press <Enter>. This error should not affect the remaining
installation process.

At this point, your installation should proceed as expected.
