Good morning, group,
i'm having a problem with SCO 5.0.5 concerning routing/standard gateway. I entered my default gateway into /etc/gateways and after boot/start of routed everything works fine:
-access to destination hosts ok
-netstat -r shows default gateway
But after some minutes (about five), the default gateway disappears (netstat -r) and network connections to the destination hosts are no longer possible.
When I kill routed and restart it again, settings are ok again for the next some minutes.
I now defined a static route to the destination (route add ...) which works until the next boot.
Now my question:
Could somebody please explain that behaviour to me? Should I define a permanent static route and that's it?
Thanks for your help!
Regards..
Guido
