Hello,

in Product description for IPO is stated that IPO systems on multi-site locations (SCN) have to be inter-connected via IP H.323 trunks.

Is it possible to form SCN network using SIP or ISDN (PRI,BRI) trunks between IPO systems or the only option is IP network?

Thanks in advance,

nixonmi

You cannot setup an "SCN" using anything other than H323 trunks but you can network IP Offices using SIP/PRI. You won't get the SCN features however.

Kyle, Similar question, how about networking a 3.2 with a 7.0? The 7.0 has the multisite networking and endpoints, the 3.2 has VCM (406 unit).

Without the full array of SCN features would I just build an H323 line with auto compression between them? There is no drop down on the early release for other choices such as SCN, SCN fallback, etc.

Just looking for basic intercom calling between.

No. You are allowed to network a system that is 1 major version behind thus your R7 system can network to an R6 but not a 3.2.

So there is not networkability, no matter how limited at all, however basic, between these two? Correct?

You can network over an IP H450 trunk without turning on Voice Networking but it will not be an SCN site, it will be simply another site.

If they can dial each others extensions (no DSS status, etc), I think it's all they need to be happy. So that should work?

You'll have to create short codes on each switch as "Dial" over the H450 trunk but yes.

Got it. Thanks I will let you know how it goes. I wanted to look at the 3.2.65 status type info , but I recall I can't uses system status for that, but need the old program. Is that true?

Yes, you can use Monitor or Call Status, depending how much info you need :)
