I currently have three sites on a campus and I have the MOH set to External for all three control units. I have a separate MOH player at each site. Each time I have to update the MOH promotion I have to go to each site.

Is there a way to allow for example site A to be the single source for sites B and C?

If you are using an external MOH source I would use the EXT option and a single analog port in the SCN. But I am not sure what software level that started at so it may not apply. But it is a good way to use a single source in a distributed environment.

budbyrd thanks. I looked up the docs on the EXT option and it is available in 9.1. I do see the MOH EXT option on an available analog port. I am trying to wrap my mind around how to do this.

I supply an external music source to the external port then that goes inside the control unit then I can use it for that control unit. Then I send it back out again using the analog MOH port but at that point how do I get the signal to a remote IPO control unit so that I can get it into that external port?

Thanks.

The XTN option is really only meant as an option to allow the connection of additional external sources in addition to setting the system source to external.

The LINE option is probably meant to be the method to use if you want to share a single source on several systems, but the help text hints that its a Server Edition feature. Still worth an experiment.

[Personally, just use WAV files uploaded remotely, and if they would need to be more than 30 seconds, then your customers probably hate them. Also, depending on your callflow, if you have Voicemail Pro it may be easier to use announcements.]

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

You will need a line matching transformer like the Valcom VMT2 or a Bogen WMT1-A depending your source. The Valcom if you are using a standard MOH device since they use a 600 ohm output. The Bogen is more for like a MP3 player. You just connected it to the port. If I remember right you have to change the port definition as well. No need to connect it to the external jack on the back.
