I am trying to get to use the SCN management mode. My problem is that I have 4 control units in different subnets so I cannot figure out how to get the discovery to9 work for multiple subnets. Can anyone help me figure this out... I have tried from within manager File -> Preferences -> SCN Discovery - but it keeps seeming like if they are not in the same subnet and MICR as my NIC then I cannot access more then one control unit at a time. Has anyone else run into this and am I just trying to make gold out of coal?

Open Manager and go to File -> Preferences -> Discovery -> IP Search Criteria.
Enter all four system IP addresses separated with a ;
Select the SCN Discovery and press OK and open the config.

This should do the trick.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I keep adding the list and it shows when no NIC is selected. When a NIC is selected it only shows the subnet that NIC exists in. I select the NIC and then add the IP Office IP list and it changes back to just the subnet. What am I doing wrong?

Use the bottom field, not the top field.
Then it will work.

I found it!!!!!

In the open Config window I had the Unit/Broadcast Address was set to only one of the IPs. I than considered changing it to a broadcast address of 255.255.255.255 which is default and was only changed by me in the first place. The TCP Discovery then found all units that are online!

I forgot to mention that :)

Thanks for directing me to where I was already - but verifying it should work and causing me to change the Unit/Broadcast Address - I do feel that this has been a great learning experience.. I really don't like having things handed to me - this way I feel I did something good!

Also have a look at the Known Systems list feature (in the Manager help).

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

sizbut - thanks for the extra tip for accessing multiple IP Office control units via manager. This feature could reduce my VPN traffic during discovery. Thanks to all!!!
