The phones ring but no audio either direction. IPO 8.1.(73)

Possibly check routers/firewalls for turning on "Enable H323 Transformations", also lower the codec to G729 which uses less bandwidth if there is little to be had.

make sure to uncheck Allow Direct Media Path. This does not work over SCN lines.

Ofcourse direct media path works on SCN lines, it is even needed to prevent anti tromboning.
If direct media path needs to be unchecked then you have a routing issue.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

TLpeter is correct Direct media path does work on SCN
However it can be useful to turn it off briefly to prove that there is a data routing issue

the IP handsets MUST on site A must have a data route to the phones on site B otherwise the speech packets will not get through.

once this is corrected re-enable direct media path

A Maintenance contract is essential, not a Luxury.
Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

IPGuru would you expand on that.
Site A is VM Pro with digital phones
Site B is Essential with IP phone
Each system has a IP route to get to the gateway

This usually means that the RTP ports are blocked or you do not have setup your IP routes well.

My routes
System A: 192.168.10.251
IP Route:
IP Address 192.168.20.0
IP Mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway IP 192.168.10.1
LAN 1

System B: 192.168.20.2
IP Route:
IP Address 192.168.10.0
IP Mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway IP 192.168.20.1
LAN 2

You have a VCM card in Site A (the IPO that has digital phones)?
I guess you have in Site B, but it needs to be fitted on every IPO in a SCN.

Kind regards

Gunnar

oh yes sorry. When I first initially installed the systems, it did not work (routing was not setup). Then after we started finishing up the installs and fixed some routing issues, I never thought about testing the Direct Media Path again haha. Thanks for the heads up.

Where can you find Direct Media Path option..?What should be always the setting of it..?? I'm a noobie... =)

You find that in Manager:
Line > Your H323 Lines > Voip Settings-Tab.
Check the "Allow Direct Media Path" box.

Kind regards

Gunnar

I had the same issue after upgrading to 8.1(73) It would only happen when a hunt group would overflow to another site. There are 3 sites in the SCN and all have local SIP trunks that target a module in the UC110. That module goes to a condition and routes the call based on the time of day. I noticed in system status that the ip address on the SCN trunk was showing up as 0.0.0.0 I called the hunt group from a digital phone to eliminate the PSTN and it worked like it should. I then changed the ICR destination to the hunt group and it worked as well. For some reason if I had the ICR set to target the UC110 I would get no audio. I setup time profiles and it has been working for a week now without issues.

any particular reason your site 2 IPO is using lan 2?
