On an SCN I am unable to use visual voice to remotely access or playback hunt group voicemail messages.

I have tried this on 3 different SCN’s over the years & never could get it to work.

Looking at some of these links it appears the problem has been around for a while.

I have 3x IPO units A, B & C (in my lab on a flat network), all run 8.1.69. A has H323 SCN lines configured to B & C. While B & C have 1 H323 SCN line each configured back to A. All handsets are 1416.
A is connected to a Voicemail Pro server (a fresh install of IP office applications server 8.1.22 (4)). B & C are setup as Centralized Voicemail to A.

The SCN works perfectly & all the user & hunt group voicemail messages display in voicemail pro & work OK.

But, I’m getting the same problem as in the threads above; I can’t access remote hunt group voicemail using visual voice.

An example of the fault, I have a hunt group on B, with a member from C assigned & have set “HGroupB” in the source number tab for this member on C. So messages left in the GroupB hunt group indicate to all members perfectly.
Now at the phone on C with the message indicator on, I press the message button & scroll down to GroupB, sometimes I see, “busy” while other times I see the normal “1/0/0”. If I see “1/0/0” I can press select to get to “New=1”, but that’s as far as I go, pressing select again just sounds the normal confidence tone but the display remains the same.

By the way you can play back the hunt group messages using short codes. (Which will be my work around I think)

Interestingly, I just replaced the 1416 on C, with an old 5410 handset & was able to play back the message. I wonder if it’s a 14xx firmware thing.

I have also tried a 9640 IP handset & it also doesn’t work.

I would just go with the work around, but I have a larger 15 site SCN coming up with over 10 remote hunt group voicemail messages needing easy access by the receptionist.
