Hi,

I'm looking at setting up a SCN environment for a customer. They have 4 offices, one of which already has an IPO 406v2 with embedded VM. The idea is to install shiny new IP500's at the remaining offices.

If the customer doesn't want centralised VM Pro, can we just use embedded at each branch and still utilise SCN? I know multiple VM Lite/Pro's are a no no, but I can't find any reference to embedded.

Cheers

Well I have seen it working without issue, if it is supported is another matter.

You can have them :) I take it this is not a supported configuration then...

It says in the Docs (if you read fully) VM Pro is the only supported method for SCN, some people run two VM Pro's and it works some have major issues...it's your call. lol

*sigh*. VM Pro looks likely then. It's frustrating as this will require extra VCM channels as well as voice networking licences (at least it appears so).

it is not supported but i have seen it work more than once with no issue. I have also been told by a high level Avaya guy that there are no issues with more than 1 Vm but they will never support it. he also said he installs it this way all the time...

So it's either extra VCM and voice networking licences coupled with possible congestion on WAN links, or an unsupported solution.

Sometime I wonder why we sell phones... :)
