Scientific Notation Help

Guys & Gals,
Could someone help me understand what number format to use in a table to be able to express a calculation such as this.

1.2 X 10to the 12th
or
9.4 x 10 to the 11th.

I'm having brain freeze. I've tried just about every combination of number formats and I'm not sure how to do this. I need to be able to store the result of a test which like in case one above is 1.2 x 10 to the 12 ohms.

I hope I'm being clear.

Could someone please help.

Hello:

There is a scientific format selection in the format property of the text box for this entry. Set it to that and it will do what you ask.

gives 1.20E+12

Thanks Guys,

I think what I really need is to convert the scientific
1.20E+12 to Log 12.079.
The reason is I need to be able to graph this data and it is hard to set up graphs with scientific format.
How would I right the formula for converting scientific to log?

Again your help would be very appreciated.
