I tried running a session manually and it went through fine, but when I schedule to run it the workflow fails with an error "Failed to fetch session information from the repository in folder [folder name] for session session_name..... Unable to fetch mapping associated with session.

Please advise me on this, how I can avoid this situation

If you have versioning turned on and this is the first instance of the session or map, you will get this error. Make sure everything is checked in.

I am using PC 7.1 and yes versioning is turned on, how can i overcome this problem.....

Have you verified your maps and sessions, etc. are checked in? Do you know how to do that?
