Hi guys

I'm working on CR9 and connecting to Oracle via ODBC.

Does anyone know if there is a way to get notifications (from Crystal Enterprise) if and when scheduled reports on Crystal Enterprise fail to run. I just want to find out if there is an easier way of doing it rather than manually checking all the time.

Any ideas?

Joy :)

There's failure notification via email.

This is from the CE 10 admin guide, if it doesn't work, pop in the CD and check the guide:

To set notification for an instance’s success or failure
1 Select a object in the Objects management area of the CMC.
2 Click the Schedule tab, then click the Notification link.
3 Click the notification type (or types) you want to use.
Note: If the notification type is already being used, it will be labelled
“Enabled”. If not, it will be labelled “Not in use”.
4 Choose the specific settings for the notification.
Audit notification
To send a record to the auditing database when the job succeeds, select “A job
has been run successfully.”
To send a record when the job fails, select “A job has failed to run.”
Email notification
Choose whether you want to send a notification when the job fails or when it
succeeds.
To specify the contents and recipients of the email notification, select “Set the
vales to be used here” and provide the From and To email addresses, the email
subject line, and the message.
Note: By default, the notification is sent to the server’s default email
destination. For details on how to change the default email settings, see

Success/failure notification was introduced in CE 10 so if you are running CE 9 this won't be available. If by 'checking manually' you mean you are currently checking each report history to see what failed, a faster way of doing this in CE 9 is to use the Instance Manager from the CE Launchpad to view all Failed instances. It's still manual but you'll see all failures at once.
