scheduling reports - db2 1

Morning all.

We're running on BO 5.1.7 against an IBM DB2 Database

Does anyone know the syntax for running BO from the Command Line?

Not really sure what your question is. You can run any module on your workstation from windows command line in the following fashion:

"c:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects 5.0\BUSOBJ.EXE" -user TBL -pass JOSETTE

This is an example from my desktop, so your path may be different (and yes , that is my wife's name ) and ( I am actually working with enterprise 6 now)

Or are you referring to using DB2 command line ???

I'm pretty new to all this so I'll give you a bit of background.

Basically our powers that be are loathe to buy Broadcast Agent, so I have been asked to look into running BO with scripts through our Job Scheduler.

My thinking is that if we can run BO through the command line we can create a script to kick off automatic scheduling of reports.

So in answer to your question, I think I mean the DB2 command line.

Please advise if I'm talking rubbish

Hmmm,

I can't see how the DB2 command line will help in this. It is basically a tool to kick off things within the database, not for starting external applications.
I would expect this to be something more in line of the command line of the operating system.

I can think of activating busobj through a .bat file or otherwise, but you will need to open a document and activate the refresh-on-open parameter in the document...
