Hi,

I am using a smart little tool called SMART CONTROL which when used in conjunction with Scheduled tasks can send RS232 command to a projector/Plasma/LCD-TV etc.

With it you can start-up/shut-down/change source etc...

I have managed to get it working with scheduled tasks when I right click on a task and select "RUN".

My problem is the when I schedule a task to run at a certain time, it only works about 10% of the time.

I have selected the "Run only if logged on" as I do not know the Administrator Passwork for my PC.

Can anyone shed some light on why the scheduled tasks will only work some of the time. This is very fustrating.

Thanks

Hi smah,

Thanks for the help. My tasks seem to be running fine and does not display the error message "The scheduled task did not run because no user account password was entered. " as shown on the microsoft Support artical.

When a task reached its scheduled time, the "LAST RUN" time changes to the time the task was run at.

This let me thing that the task has run correctly but its does not perform its operation.

Any other suggestions.

I will try adding a password to see if that changes anything.

Any luck J?

Hope this Helps.

I have got it working,

As stated by Smah, you do need a password on your logging account and use this in the schedule task to get it to work correctly every time.

Because you must have a password, then if you need the PC to restart automatically without having to type in a password you need to follow the following instructions:

The above link is not the exact artical I used to get this working, but seems to be the same info.

Glad I got that one sorted.
