Hey Everyone,

Earlier this week, I had some major issues with ARCSERVE 2000 but all was settled thanks to the help I received on here. In order to maintain ARCSERVE I am looking at creating scheduled tasks to do the following once a week.

Stop the DBENG.EXE Service
Remove all the files ending with *.CHG and all files starting with RDM
Start the DBENG.EXE Service

What would be the best way to go about doing this?

Thank you

you can use a net stop command to stop the service and then simple bat commands to do it or...

to prevent those files from being left in the first place modify velosis.ini, server section, set archive to 0.

Archiving=1 - When archiving is enabled, Velocis will leave the old change log file in the sysdev device directory. This allows an administrator to save the old file on backup media (useful, for example, in a roll-forward recovery in the event of a media failure). When archiving is not enabled (Archiving=0), the old change log file is automatically deleted by Velocis after the new file has been created during a change log cycle operation.
